Ann Lam Bui

Prospective PharmD Candidate

About Me

My name is Ann and I'm currently a P1 at USC School of Pharmacy. From a young age, I have been passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of others. Whether it be through volunteering at summer camps for children living with skin diseases or simply bringing a small gesture of kindness such as fresh fruit to my grandmother, I take great joy in bringing a smile to the faces of those around me.  I followed this same passion to pharmacy school, where I now want to make innovations in patient access to medications. My excitement for a path revolving around medicine first grew when I witnessed the transformative impact that my mother's expertise as a pharmacist had on my father's cancer journey. Inspired by her ability to ease the pain of others, I decided to follow in her footsteps and pursue a career in pharmacy. I am driven to emulate her example by utilizing my knowledge of medication management to help patients, remaining approachable and accessible, and empowering them through education.

While at USC, I've been able to develop core patient-focused care skills, such as immunization, diabetes screening, cholesterol screening, and hypertension screening. My favorite part of pharmacy school are the health fairs! I love being able to go out into the community and provide others with preventative healthcare that the patients may rely on. My current goals are to help make health care more accessible.
